Has anyone successfully gotten Spinnaker installed on any of the 32-bit versions of XP, Vista or Win7? I tried it on 32-bit Win7 yesterday and it wound up reliably crashing the NTVDM at the end of the installation - doesn't look like it installed properly and it certainly isn't running properly. I figure it's a lost cause but wanted to check.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Spinnaker on newer Windows
This is kind of what I meant by "the API has moved on". Spinnaker was compiled back in the day when a lot of the current security restrictions on the NT kernel were optional - aka the Win95/98 kernels. They didn't even have permissions in them.
Your best bet is to virtualize 98, I would think.

Yeah, I could probably virtualize and then map a drive to my actual SLBBS files to get things running. Not a bad idea - we'll see how stable it is!

I have ran it on Windows 2000 and Windows Xp but had to install a watchdog script to keep it up and running because it crashed every few hours.
I have it running now on Windows 98 and having much better luck.
